Ce sont des soirées qui ont lieu dans TOUTE la France avec des Mc’s plus ou moins connus mais réunis par la même envie de kicker l’instru. Comme la 1ère soirée a lieu ce vendredi à Paris, je suis allée voir une moitié de l’organisation (l’autre, ce sont les géniaux et trop gentils membres de MPC Prod) : les membres du groupe de rap Triptik (dont j’avais déjà parlé ICI). Et je leur ai demandé de nous présenter un peu cet évènement hors norme qui va fêter ses 1 an : Battle ? Concert ? Pures Performances

De quelle drôle d’idée est née la Can I Kick It ?
Triptik : On voulait refaire un concert Triptik à Paris mais on avait pas d’actu, on se disait que ça serait cool de faire un concert avec pleins d’invités, ça faisait longtemps qu’il n’y avait pas eu un plateau rap français.
Au départ on ne devait être que 3/4 groupes à partager la scène, mais de fil en aiguille ça s’est transformé en grand Chelem. A cette période, beaucoup de nouvelles têtes émergeaient et les gars de notre génération étaient stimulés par ce nouveau phénomène. Il fallait donc réussir à les réunir sur une même scène. On se disait que cette formule serait forcément intéressante pour le public comme pour les artistes… On n’a pas été déçus du résultat. On est même assez fiers d’avoir réussi notre pari.
D’où vient cette expression ?
Triptik : Du célèbre titre de A Tribe Called Quest « Can I Kick It ? »
Quel est le concept, exactement ?
Triptik : Mélanger des rappeurs français de tous horizons, des rookies, des anciens, des inconnus et des têtes d’affiches.
Essayer de trouver un bon équilibre dans le line up en proposant un plateau éclectique et riche en surprises.
Partager la scene de minuit à 6h de mat dans un grand bordel organisé.
Pour promouvoir l’événement on a décidé de faire une série de vidéos teaser, dans lesquelles chaque participant se présente en 8 mesures.

Triptik : Dans la première édition, en juin 2011, il y avait bien sûr Triptik, L’Entourage, A2H, Meksa Peal, Cool Connexion, Bon Gamin et Oxmo Puccino et Orelsan en invités surprise.
Quel est votre souvenir le plus ouf d’une Can I Kick It ?
Triptik : L’Entourage avec Jazzy Bazz, Deen Burbigo, Guizmo & co, ils ont débarqué à 15 sur scène et le public était bouillant, c’était une des premières fois que les fans voyaient l’Entourage sur scène, ils étaient au top de leur buzz, c’était très chaud !
L’ouverture de la soirée par Oxmo est aussi un très bon souvenir.
Ou le public est-il le plus chaud ?
Triptik : Pour l’instant c’est à Paris mais Annecy s’est très bien défendu aussi !
Comment- voyez-vous la Can I Kick it dans 10 ans ?
Triptik : Je pense que, dans 10 ans, on sera passé à autre chose. Toutes les bonnes choses ont une fin !
